A landmark of Phoenixville since 1903, the Colonial Theatre is the last of it's kind in Chester County. Sporting a rich history, the Colonial Theatre has provided a stage for such notable performers as The Great Houdini in 1917 and was one of the key locations for the filming of the 1958 classic The Blob starring Steve McQueen. Today the Colonial is a bustling center of the community that boasts everything from movie screenings of classic films to cult favorites, live performances and hosting community events. In particular be on the alert for their annual Blob Fest which is held each July in tribute to the theatre's memorable role in the 1958 film.
